Follow-up Meme: The Sweet 100!

Those of you who are regulars might remember the meme I shared back a month or so ago about The Omnivore's 100 –a list of foods both vomitive and sublime that most people who call themselves foodies should taste at some point.

Well, not to be outdone, Cakespy has put out a list of 100 treats to try in the same spirit as the original (i.e. caviar and blinis commingling with Big Macs and Hostess pies).  Here are the instructions and a link to Cakespy's original post.  Have fun!

(ZS note: as with the previous meme, the notes that follow the entry are based on my personal experience, because, well, I like to talk.  Er, write.  Also?  I think that as long as it's sweet, I'd give it a whirl and barf later if it was really bad.  Sorry about the possible visual.)

1) Copy this list into your site, including the instructions!
2) Bold all of the sweets you've eaten–or make them a different type color.
3) Cross out any of them that you'd never ever eat.
4) Consider anything that is not bold or crossed out your "To Do" List.
5)
Optional: Post a comment here linking to your results–or just post a
comment letting us know how many you've tried, or what you're going to
try next!

  1. now *this* is a list i can sink my tooth (the sweet one) into!

  2. LOL I’ll have to sit down and do this one. I did the omnivore one and was shocked by how many truly weird things I’ve eaten… and how few left on that list I’d be willing to put in my mouth…

  3. Oh dear! I would fail so miserably at this test. My sweet tooth pretty much limits itself to fruit, cookies, pie and the occasional cake (or pain au chocolat). Although, who knew there were so many options out there 😉

  4. Mmmmm, sweetness. I have only tried about a third of these, which is clearly not enough. I have work to do.
Our tastes seem to differ on a few items. I love halvah and sweet red beans. I also enjoy bubble tea, which I find strangely compelling. These all have kinda funky textures. Is that part of your objection to them?

  5. I don’t know, I think 67 is pretty good! Of course, if a 67 is a D, I don’t think that you’ll mind doing extra studying for this class… 🙂

  6. Count me in for the extra credit! Incidentally, I now have 68 because I tried Gateau Basque over the weekend! Can’t say I loved it, but it wasn’t too bad either.
