A Daily Dose of Zen Sarcasm!

Snow Day

Ford Tough, originally uploaded by Madame Meow.

It snowed all day today and it was truly magical.

One of my favorite things about snow is the sounds it makes– the soft, plopping pops that float above your head.

But another one of my favorite things is seeing the kinds of things that are only revealed when the whole world is covered in white powder, such as the beauty of an iced-over grille or the haunting sight of a completely blanketed street, untouched by feet or tires.

Hope you enjoyed the snow (if you had it) wherever you were.

  1. Love the photo. Captures it perfectly! I’m waiting to go in to the doctor’s this fabulous snowy day. Things just keep on a’ moving here in NYC though. No one blinks for snow. Miss people caring about it, haha.

  2. This morning, our lovely snow was covered with a foot of angry ice.
    I’m looking forward to spring.

  3. LJ–Thanks! In some ways I wish snow weren’t such a big deal here in DC, but it also makes it that much more special and quaint. Hope all goes well at the dr’s!
Rachel– We woke up to ice as well :o( Boo and hiss are in order.

  4. Ugh. I did at first…
Then I slipped on a used condom and did NOT get the day off today. Argh.
It was still lovely yesterday, though.

It took forever to get the ice off my car.
